Interaction between Thermal Comfort, Indoor Air Quality and Ventilation Energy Consumption of Educational Buildings: A Comprehensive Review

چکیده
Thermal comfort and indoor air quality (IAQ) of educational buildings can affect students’ academic performance well-being are closely related to ventilation energy consumption. Demands the environmental within classroom generally vary with education levels result in consumption accounting for a considerable proportion total use bulk buildings. Its huge energy-saving potential is attracting worldwide attention from scholars governments. Therefore, appropriate operation strategies systems should be adopted effectively reduce without sacrificing thermal IAQ. However, absence relevant standards guidelines designing environment considering special features remains an important research question. This study conducts comprehensive review determine gaps identify future directions interaction between comfort, IAQ The results show that: (1) prediction model consider influences genders, ages socioeconomic backgrounds; (2) mixed-mode coupling natural mechanical approaches preferred given its advantage lower improved but control need further exploration; (3) Optimizing passive design parameters (e.g., window wall ratios, orientations sun shading installations) significantly demands while maintaining comfort; (4) More studies required investigating during heating period; (5) university clearly requires studies, especially on bacterial fungal aerosol pollutants, more assessment built environment.

Air Quality and Thermal Comfort in Office Buildings: Results of a Large Indoor Environmental Quality Survey
This paper presents results of over 34,000 survey responses to air quality and thermal comfort questions in 215 buildings in US, Canada, and Finland. Results show that 80% or more of the occupants expressed satisfaction with their thermal comfort in only 11% of the buildings surveyed. Air quality scores were somewhat higher, with 26% of buildings having 80% or occupant satisfaction. With respec...

As students spend one-third of their time at school, their health, comfort, and productivity are mostly influenced by thermal condition and indoor air quality of classrooms. Regarding that manual window-opening is a common way for providing fresh air in classes and students aren't allowed to change their uniform, position or control the windows during the lesson hours, providing thermal comf...

Nanotechnology promises to improve the quality of human life, but it has also provoked concerns about potential adverse health effects on workers, the environment and consumers. Effective risk assessment and risk management of nanotechnology requires: 1) knowing how engineered nanoscale particles (NPs) can gain entry into the human body (routes of exposure); 2) knowing whether engineered NPs ca...
